BILL BLACK, JR.
RESTORATION CONTRACTOR

Bill Black, Jr. is Vice President at Ray Black & Son, Inc., general contractors based in Paducah, Kentucky. The firm is a strong proponent for the preservation of historic buildings and has received recognition, on both national and local levels, for their work.

Mr. Black holds a history degree from Princeton and is the recipient of numerous professional and civic awards, including the Ida Lee Willis Award for Service to Historic Preservation in Kentucky. He is active in preservation and development issues, serving in various roles with Growth, Inc., Civic Development Corp.; The Lower Town Neighborhood Association; the International Brick Collectors’ Association; the William Clark Market House Museum; the Kentucky Historical Society; and The Nature Conservancy.

His project experience includes numerous buildings in Paducah, such as the River Heritage Museum, the Mosko Building, Whitehaven Welcome Center, and Market House. He also assisted with the restoration of Riverlore Mansion in nearby Cairo, Illinois and undertook the planning and stabilization of the Budenbaum House in Paducah.
